Boy 2, after a long period of near-complete disinterest, has been attempting to write and read again lately. He's been picking out a few letter sounds as we read his favorite books (currently, most of his choices are of the Star Wars variety--but our preferences do change with the wind around here). And then a few days ago he shocked me with his sudden progress when wrote me a letter. Can you read it?
Change purse, lipstick, and Iron Man and Spider-Man voice packs. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I'm completely confused who should feel flattered. Probably not me.
All the kids are still enjoying their 2012 and even 2011 Halloween costumes regularly. Boy 1/Ironman has discovered that he can loosen the strap of his helmet so he can wear it without taking off his glasses.
It's SO much easier to save the world when you can see it.
And speaking of the dress-up bin.
Sup--er, I mean Clark Kent--is especially incognito in a Batman t-shirt. Surely his secret is safe.
When the costume bin doesn't have ready-made to suit him, Boy 2 fashions his own. Supergirl's belt converts nicely to a cat's tail to go with his cereal-box cat's ears.
Oh, and there she is, sans the purloined belt.
The kids have really enjoyed fireflies the past few nights. For once, early evening is not too viciously mosquito-y to brave in order to run around and catch a few of the gentler insects. The kids are surprisingly careful about handling them, which is always a pleasant shock. And as you can see, even watching the little lights from inside the house is exciting to the smallest M.
And finally, the latest "sibs" picture, taken for framing to put on Dada's new desk at work and given to him on Father's Day:
